昨日の夜中は西大寺の会陽（えよう）と呼ばれる裸祭りでした。
500年も続く奇祭です。備前焼が茶道具などを作り始める以前のころからのお祭りですね。その頃の陶工は水甕やすり鉢を主に作っていました。
このお祭りが終わると”備前平野に春が来る”といわれています。

毎年2月の第３土曜日はこのお祭りです。ご都合がつけば伊部に宿泊して赤穂線で西大寺までという旅行はいかがでしょうか？
今日から2週間は後祭りと呼ばれるお祭りです。

At that time, potters mainly made water jars and mortars.
It is said that “spring will come to Bizen Hirano” when the festival is finished.

Every year, the festival is held on the third Saturday of February. If you have time, how about staying in Imbe and go to Saidaiji Temple by Ako Line?
